Only After Dark (album)

"Only After Dark" is a compilation album that was compiled by Nick Rhodes and John Taylor from Duran Duran, and recreates a night at Birmingham's Rum Runner nightclub, during the post punk days of the late 70s/early 80s when a new sound of glam/punk/electronica started to crystallize.

The 18 track CD was released on 8 May 2006 and presented in a silver gatefold card sleeve in shocking pink metallic print featuring photographs taken from this period, first published in the book "Duran Duran Unseen" by Paul Edmond, the front cover photo being of fashion designer Patti Bell.

"I was really pleased when Paul decided to bring the book (Duran Duran Unseen) out," admits John. "It reveals a lot about the musical scene of the time and fuelled our enthusiasm when compiling the album." (Only After Dark, A Night At The Rum Runner)

Art Postcards: London Calling (late 1990s)

Paul created his postcard series London Calling in the later ‘90s. Some of his cards can still be found in London Treehouse on Portobello Rd, London W11. Paul used to come and stay with us in Eastbourne and he loved the skies here so much that he would superimpose Eastbourne skies behind some of London’s most famous monuments. Paul’s early sepia tinged postcards which appeared in the ‘90s in London were the first of their kind, he set the trend with this style. Paul’s later Brighton collection after he had moved there in 2005 really highlight his tremendous and quirky sense of humour. He had much fun with the seagulls! - Maggie K de Monde

Art Postcards: Cornish View (late 80s/early 90s)

Paul was inspired by the rugged beauty of the landscapes and the fishermen and their boats during the time he was living in Penzance in the ‘80s and early ‘90s. He set up his business Deja-Vu photography and created a series of postcards titled Cornish View. - Maggie K de Monde
